Hello 2021, Nice to meet you.

I love new and fresh starts.

One of my favorite verses that God reminds me of often is “I am forgetting those things that are behind and straining toward what is AHEAD, I press toward the goal for the high calling in Christ Jesus.” Phil 3:13 The other verse along with this I remember is “Remember Lot’s wife.” Luke 17:32 If you know the story, Lot’s wife couldn’t let go of her old life. When she was leaving Sodom and Gomorrah, she looks back and literally turns to salt, frozen in place. What a visual! That has always helped me, especially when I feel like I am tempted to get stuck thinking about my past and negative memories.

Our minds and spirits retain the information of everything we experience like a computer – good AND bad. What we experience mold us into who (we think) we are. BUT….. God says “I am a new creation in Christ Jesus.” If I accept that, and believe Him when He says, “He has plans for me, to prosper me and not to harm me and give me HOPE and a future,” then I can start over and become who God says I am! If I BELIEVE what God says, over what has happened to me, anything is possible!

This is amazing news. It’s like being released from a prison of whatever holds us in bondage (fear, anger, bitterness, depression, envy, addiction, control, fill-in-the-blank). God says I am fearfully and WONDERFULLY made, that I am loved, cherished, HIS CHILD. I am choosing to believe His words – not the words or actions of others! This is the same for YOU!

Think about your life. What negative thoughts, habits, actions do you seem to repeat over and over and feel stuck in? Decide today you are going to practice NEW habits and thoughts to replace and push out the OLD ONES. One morning I was waking up I heard,”you can rewrite your past just like you are writing a vision for your future.” I promptly sat down when pen and paper and wrote out how things “should” have been. I read my “story” out loud, then LEFT IT. This was so healing!

This month, instead of writing down “new years resolutions,” write a VISION (like Habakkuk 2:2 says!), make a vision board (with images) and thank God DAILY for helping you to move forward and live our best life! Keep the board in a place you can see and work toward this daily – Partner with God and ask Him steps to get there.

Say this out loud and believe!

“I do not remember the former things nor consider the things of old. Behold! God is doing a NEW thing in my life and NOW it will spring forth!” Isaiah 43:18-19

2021 here we come.
